(HT 0-0)

Harbury RFC

In a hard-fought contest at Earlsdon on Saturday, 9th November, the home side demonstrated their strength and determination to overcome a powerful Harbury team. Led by Captain Jack Sargeant, who was named Man of the Match for his exceptional leadership and relentless work rate, Earlsdon secured a well-deserved victory through a combination of strong defensive pressure and dynamic attacking play.

The first try came after relentless defensive pressure from Earlsdon’s forwards, with Max McHugh intercepting a loose pass and racing over the line to open the scoring. The defensive intensity remained high, forcing another error from Harbury, which allowed Deepinder Dyal to dive over and extend the lead.

Earlsdon's attacking play was sparked by the powerful mazy runs of Aaron Harris, whose elusive footwork caused problems for Harbury throughout. The forwards also contributed to the scoreline with some excellent structured carries, laying the platform for quick ball. Sam Mauch, Tom Bramwell, and Charlie Knight each made their mark with strong and direct runs, consistently gaining valuable ground and creating space for the backs.

The game was rounded off with a well-executed set-piece move that allowed Aaron Harris to score in the corner, capping off an excellent team effort. Coach Jon Fitt praised the overall team performance, saying, “Our forwards were excellent today, providing the foundation for us to build on, and we executed our game plan well. It was a real team effort, and I’m proud of how everyone contributed.”

With the victory, Earlsdon reinforced their impressive form, showing great resilience and cohesion. The team will now look to carry this momentum into their upcoming fixtures.
