Earlsdon RFC

Match Report: Alcester RFC 47 – 12 Earlsdon RFC

Earlsdon RFC travelled to a fired-up Alcester side and, despite periods of strong rugby, were unable to contain the physical onslaught from the home team, eventually falling to a 47–12 defeat. From the opening whistle, Alcester made their intentions clear — dominant collisions, relentless pressure, and a willingness to impose themselves physically at every breakdown.

Roared on by a passionate and very vocal crowd, the hosts fed off the energy of their home ground, gaining momentum through powerful carries and quick front-foot ball. Earlsdon defended bravely in spells and showed flashes of quality in phase play, moving the ball well when opportunities arose and scoring two well-constructed tries of their own. However, the sheer aggression and at times outright brutality displayed by Alcester made it difficult for the visitors to sustain pressure or build consistency.

Despite the result, there are positives to take. The experience highlighted areas to tighten up — particularly in dealing with physical dominance and turning defensive efforts into counter-attacking chances. Head Coach Jon Fittreflected after the match:

“We’ll learn from this experience and we’ll be better for next time. The boys showed character, and we’ll take those positives with us into the next fixture.”

Earlsdon will now look to regroup, channel lessons learned, and come back stronger as the season continues. The scoreline may not have gone their way, but the determination remains clear — this group will fight on.
