A frustrating afternoon for Earlsdon 1st XV as they fell 20–31 to Old Leamingtonians, in a game that ultimately came down to not turning up when it mattered. Credit to the opposition—they were organised, motivated, and played with real intent—but from an Earlsdon perspective, it was well below the level expected.
On another day, this is a fixture where Earlsdon should be asking serious questions and imposing themselves on the game. This time, that edge just wasn’t there. Too often second best in key moments, and lacking the energy and accuracy needed to control the contest, the performance never really got going.
Coach Jon Fitt will be looking for a strong response, with the message clear: finish the season properly. With Worcester up next, there’s still an opportunity to put things right and end the campaign with the kind of performance that reflects the team’s true potential.
